JAPAN

Sponsored by: Rotary club of YOSHIKAWA, Saitama, District 2770, Japan

Country of Citizenship: Japan

Language proficiency: Japanese, English, Basic Thai

Undergraduate degree: BA (Economics)

Areas of special interest: Refugee resettlement, Advocacy activities, Building medical service system, Medical economics, freedom from the poverty

Background to RWPF Award: I started my career at Ernst & Young doing tax and audit practices and continued auditing at Nikko Citigroup (fka Solomon Smith Barney). However, I had a great opportunity to become directly involved with MSF (Medecins Sans Frontieres), which dramatically changed my life, and in September 2007, had a first assignment in Bangkok, Thailand, as a country administrator. I also joined fundraising projects on a volunteering basis at Oxfam and Child fund in Japan.

What are you going to do with your RWPF?: I believe RWPF enable me to make a personal contribution to making the global community more peaceful in nature and also the uses to make of the knowledge and analytical skills acquired while studying at Bradford.

Several of the past and present Peace Fellows keep blogs. We will put links to any that we know about, on Fellows' individual web pages. Please let us know of any we have missed. Thank you.
