Undergraduate degree : English language and literature with minor translation (English – Arabic )
Area of special interest : the Palestinian- Israeli conflict, the grassroots role in conflict resolution, media and writing.
Background to RWPF Award : at this time, I work as a Program Director for youth development and leadership with OneVoice movement, Palestine office. My role revolves around recruiting and raising the capacity building for the youth sector in Palestine to become an active and empowered element in the decision making process in order to reach a final agreement that will guarantee for the Palestinian ending of occupation and achieving of independent viable state that lives in security with Israeli. I work closely in planning, advocacy, lobbying, training and media and PR sectors. In addition to that, I was involved with several developmental projects in Palestine for the past 5 years and worked in the training and translation fields .
What are you going to do with your RWPF: my main interest is to gain more knowledge and information to be empowered individual to help in resolving the Palestinian – Israeli conflict. I want to be involved with many other important issues related to conflict resolution around the world e.g. Sudan and Darfur. In addition to that, I hope to become an advisor or consultantin middle east affairs specifically for conflict resolution for the United Nations or other international organizations .
